Take and Read — Augustine of Hippo

A Prayer of Conversion

Take and Read

Augustine of Hippo · 354–430

In a garden in Milan, weeping, Augustine heard a child sing “take and read.” He opened Paul, read a single line, and his long resistance fell away. Pray with him for the grace to finally let go.
